Title: Environmental Services Manager
Reports to: COO
Essential Job Functions
LEADERSHIP
Will supervise the activities of the Environmental Services' department, and will be responsible for the selection of cleaning supplies and equipment. Perform department-specific orientation, scheduling, performance assessment, competency assessment and discipline of all direct reports.
A leader is a person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal. They lead by example, so that others are motivated to follow him/her. A leader helps colleagues work together and ensure they're delivering the highest level of customer service.
- EVS Manager Accountability
- Hires, orients, trains, coaches, disciplines, and, when appropriate, terminates employees.
- Inspects areas to ensure proper job performance.
- Has knowledge of chemicals and dispersing systems used within the department
- Develops and implements quality monitors and reports as required.
- Prepares and submits all required budgeting documents in a timely manner.
- Controls departmental expenses.
- Ensures ongoing competency of staff, and compliance with for EVS operations and DNV standards
- Encourages intra- and inter-departmental team work and team building
- Is engaged, sympathetic, empathetic using BBGH core values as our guide.
- Ensures departmental policies and procedures reflect current standards
- Ensures areas of responsibility are in compliance.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Consistently displays commitment to customer service through words and actions
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports organizational goals
- Schedules work hours of staff, and ensures shifts are properly staffed.
- Monitors and authorizes staff requests for time off
- Participates in organizational leadership meetings
- Leads and participates in Process Improvement and Service Excellence
- Anticipates and follows up on customer requests, questions and complaints
- Resolves issues to improve patient satisfaction using service recovery as indicated
- Leads by example and addresses opportunities as indicated.
- Holds staff accountable for knowledge of organizational/departmental policies
- Actively participates in identifying department needs
- Contributes to a team-oriented environment
- Is receptive to being taught, coached and mentored
- Leads shift briefs, debriefs and huddles
- Uses BBGH standardized communication tools for improved communication, teamwork
- Maintains awareness of patient satisfaction score initiatives and takes an active role in improvements
- Suggests process improvements as needed
- Requests educational assistance as needed
- Resolves issues to improve patient satisfaction using service recovery as indicated
- Offers suggestions and actively participates in identifying department needs
- Other Duties as assigned

Education
- Required:
- High School Graduate
- Conditional:

Experience/Qualifications
- Required:
- Previous management or supervisory experience or education
- Proficient computer skills include: Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, email and the internet.
- Preferred: One year experience in a health care environment service and laundry
Licenses/Certifications
- Required:
- Valid Driver's License
Position Hours Per Day - Must maintain budgeted hours
Expected work hours up to - 10
Upon hire must provide copy of the Immunization Record and disclose your current influenza immunization.
