Technical Program Managers (TPMs) at Amazon are responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of technical programs. At Level 6 (TPM III), you will be expected to manage technical initiatives, potentially spanning across multiple teams or organizations, in support of larger business objectives.

What You'll Do
Lead End-to-End Program Planning: Partner with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive roadmaps and execution plans for complex technical initiatives
Drive Technical Innovation: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, working closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation
Manage Risk Proactively: Identify potential roadblocks before they become issues and develop mitigation strategies that keep programs on track
Champion Communication: Create compelling status reports that tell the story of your projects and ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned
Build Consensus Across Teams: When different views emerge on how to proceed, you'll find the best path forward and influence others to follow
A day in the life
Start your morning by reviewing the status of a critical program that will improve the quality of hires for Amazon and its subsidiaries. You notice a potential risk and immediately spring into action:
You bring together engineering leads from three different teams to brainstorm solutions
You facilitate a decision-making meeting where trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality are evaluated
You collaborate with UX designers to ensure the customer experience remains exceptional
You update senior leadership on the program status, highlighting the risk and your mitigation plan
You celebrate with your team as a major milestone is achieved ahead of schedule

About the team
Join our Workforce Solutions Talent Acquisition Products (WSTAP) Technical Program Management team, where you'll drive mission-critical hiring technology initiatives that power Amazon's global recruitment engine. Our TPMs lead innovative projects to improve the quality and velocity of hire while producing the best candidate experience.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
