Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed volume, revenue and margin targets for the territory by defending and growing existing business while identifying and closing new opportunities in the territory.
  • Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
  • Develop a personal network within the sales territory and represent the organization at trade shows and other events to identify sales opportunities, promote the organization, and enhance its reputation.
  • Use personal expertise to identify the complex standard products and/or services offered by Business Line Catalysts that meet the customer's needs, together with quantities and product configurations. Present these to the customer with a clear rationale and at standard commercial terms, referring to senior colleagues where necessary to gain the customer's agreement.
  • Negotiate and execute multi-year supply agreements as well as non-disclosure agreements.
  • Acquisition of spent catalysts: identify decision makers and units, maintain unit database and negotiate acquisition offers
  • Collaborate internally and work as the customer champion in cross-functional teams to build strong external customer relationships.
  • Enter customer information that has been gathered through research and/or through direct customer contact into the customer relationship management system (MS Dynamics 365), to ensure that the organization has quality data to enable effective customer retention and business development activities.
  • Meet sales KPI regarding contact reports, opportunity pipeline, over dues, forecast accuracy

Requirements

  • A technical undergraduate degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is strongly preferred
  • Highschool Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years experience in sales of highly technical products and services, ideally in a multinational environment. Specifically, prior catalyst sales experience is not required but would be a plus as is technical experience working in a refinery.
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance and novel concepts for a wide range of topics when required
  • 3-8 years successfully managing customer relationships preferred
  • Established track record of success in sales – demonstrated ability for generating and maintaining solution based sales approaches at the customer while leveraging the internal team to deliver the sale
