This includes operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and effectively. A strong commitment to workplace safety is non-negotiable, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires the ability to perform frequent lifting of heavy items, often exceeding 50 pounds, and sustained physical activity. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment proficiently.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage locations.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Ensure that all materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
- Utilize required PPE at all times during operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of our logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Certification for operating specific material handling equipment (e.g., forklift) is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (50+ lbs) consistently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good physical stamina and coordination.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is beneficial.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient logistics operation.
