Job Summary:
Columbus, Ohio - Our logistics company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This critical role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data within our warehouse management system (WMS). You will conduct regular audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement procedures to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize losses. Strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of inventory processes, and a commitment to maintaining a highly organized stockroom are essential. This position plays a vital part in the overall efficiency and profitability of our distribution operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels in the WMS, reconciling discrepancies through investigation and physical counts.
  • Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Process inventory adjustments, transfers, and receipts accurately.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, purchasing, and sales teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling of goods and use of required PPE, as lifting may be involved.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory control principles and best practices in logistics.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and generate reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
