We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth flow of goods into our facility, forming the first crucial step in our inventory management and Logistics chain. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient unloading, inspection, and processing of incoming shipments. Your primary duties will involve receiving deliveries, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and documenting any discrepancies or damages. You will utilize warehouse equipment to move and store received goods appropriately. Maintaining an organized and safe receiving area is essential. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Attention to detail is key to preventing errors in inventory records. You will be expected to follow all company Safety protocols and wear the required PPE . The role involves some physical work, including the Lifting of items that can weigh up to 50 pounds, and requires periods of standing and walking. This is a great chance to contribute to the operational efficiency of a leading distribution center and to develop your skills in warehouse management. Your role ensures that our inventory is accurately accounted for from the moment it enters our doors. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect shipments for damages and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately document all incoming inventory.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely.
- Store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory control procedures.
