Our dynamic distribution center in Chicago, Illinois, is looking for dedicated Picker/Packers to join our team. In this essential role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items for customer orders and carefully packing them for shipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficiency, and a strong commitment to quality. You will work with various types of products, using scanning technology and following specific order instructions. This is an active role that contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our logistics operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order tickets or electronic pick lists.
- Verify product codes, descriptions, and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare finished orders for shipment, including applying labels and ensuring correct documentation.
- Operate scanning equipment to track inventory movement and update order status.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company and safety guidelines.
- Wear and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) diligently.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking and packing targets in our logistics hub.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment as needed.
- Must be able to perform lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret order pick lists and product labels accurately.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Good manual dexterity for packing operations.
- Experience in a logistics environment is advantageous.
