Seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This critical role ensures the accurate and timely intake of all incoming goods, forming the first step in our logistics process. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording received items into our inventory system. Your attention to detail is paramount to maintaining accurate stock levels and preventing discrepancies. This position requires physical stamina and a commitment to a safe working environment. - Unloading incoming freight from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Verifying the accuracy of received goods against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspecting incoming merchandise for any damage or defects.
- Documenting all received items in the warehouse management system.
- Labeling and staging received products for put-away.
- Communicating any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhering to all Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Wearing and utilizing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with inventory tasks as needed.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- A strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures.
