We are looking for a detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing customer orders for shipment, contributing directly to our logistics success. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves, inspecting them for quality, and carefully packing them into appropriate shipping containers. This position requires speed, accuracy, and a strong commitment to safety. You will be expected to adhere to all company policies, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse inventory according to order specifications.
- Inspect picked items for damage or defects before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages with shipping information and other required documentation.
- Stage packed orders for shipment in designated areas.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of required PPE.
- Follow safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a picking/packing or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret order forms and product labels.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
