Seeking energetic and reliable Picker/Packers for our busy distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is a cornerstone of our logistics operations, ensuring that orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves based on customer orders, carefully packing them for shipment, and preparing them for dispatch. A strong commitment to Safety is essential; you will be required to use appropriate PPE and follow all established safety procedures. This physically active role involves frequent movement, standing for extended periods, and regular Lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Accuracy and speed are key, but never at the expense of Safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items according to order specifications using scanning equipment.
- Inspect items for damage before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Stage packed orders for pickup by shipping personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Meet established productivity targets for picking and packing.
- Contribute to a positive and safe team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous picking and packing experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent movement, standing, and Lifting.
- Commitment to adhering to Safety regulations and using PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented and able to communicate effectively.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic understanding of warehouse logistics.
