Our Boston, Massachusetts location is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated warehouse staff. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments, serving as a key link in our supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding strict safety standards. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, verifying order accuracy, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all shipments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of orders being shipped against order details and customer information.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled, packaged, and consolidated for outbound transit.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with managing warehouse inventory and stock counts as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
- Contribute to the efficiency and optimization of the overall logistics process.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics coordination, or as a shipping clerk is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical activity, including **Lifting** up to 30 lbs.
- Knowledge of various shipping methods and carrier requirements.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
