We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse facility in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all deliveries are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and properly stocking received goods. Accuracy and organization are key to maintaining smooth logistics operations. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and all employees are required to wear the appropriate PPE. This position involves physical tasks, including regular lifting of packages and materials, so the ability to handle such duties is necessary. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from delivery trucks.
- Verify quantities and descriptions of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming items for damage or discrepancies.
- Document all received goods accurately in the inventory system.
- Stage incoming items for put-away into warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks.
- Perform tasks involving regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a receiving clerk or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting and standing.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
