This remote position is located in our client’s PMO office and may require travel. Preferred locations: Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lake Charles, Louisiana; Houston, Texas; Beaumont, Texas.
ResponsibilitiesProvides technical project supervision and guidance while managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned Transmission and Distribution projects according to WSP’s core values and the services agreed upon in the contract. Tasks include responsibility for the overall performance of moderate‑size, local or regional projects, with oversight of financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety and schedule. Ensures that all project‑lifecycle phases—proposal, startup and planning, execution, reporting, and closeout—adhere to corporate standards for safety, execution, profitability and operational purpose.
Your Impact- Lead the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close‑out for multiple concurrent projects.
- Manage project implementation including schedule, budget, and resources, including external vendors and contractors.
- Lead client discussions and develop/grow client relationships.
- Serve as the primary project authority on major project‑related issues.
- Track metrics, report to stakeholders, and comply with regulatory, corporate and department procedures during all project phases.
- Maintain good working relationships with WSP/POWER staff, management, and the client.
- Oversee and monitor cross‑functional teams of technical professionals to execute project work on mid‑level or multiple concurrent projects, including budget tracking, hours, expenses, cost and quantities of materials, deliverables, compliance documentation, and contractual obligations.
- Determine the required level of technical review, select qualified staff, and ensure QA/QC compliance.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant post‑education experience in a project management role within the industry.
- Strong understanding of the project delivery process in the A/E/C industry and a proven background in project management.
- Well‑developed analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge business and project management.
- Familiarity with financial analysis tools in a utility setting.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP‑M).
