While many roles here are remote‑first, this position requires in‑person participation throughout the year. Team and company‑wide off‑sites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment; attendance is expected and fully supported.
The Risk Platform Team fosters business growth by managing financial risks that impact the business and its users. We build flexible, scalable, and customizable engineering systems to detect and prevent fraud, incorporating real‑time, near‑real‑time, and scheduled workflows.
As a front‑end engineer, you will partner closely with Platform teams (Payments, Finhub, Identity) and Product teams to deliver a seamless user experience. Your responsibilities also include collaborating with Analysts and Ops teams to uncover new fraud patterns that evade existing safeguards, and working with the Machine Learning team to develop and train fraud‑detection models.
What you’ll be doing (job duties)- Shape the next generation of Risk Platform architecture that powers Coinbase.
- Articulate a long‑term technical direction and vision for maintaining and scaling our web and mobile platforms.
- Create trustworthy user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant, and reliable using modern tools like React, React Native, Typescript, React Navigation, Jest, and Webpack.
- Turn our vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter by working with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.
- Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
- Add positive energy in every meeting and make coworkers feel included in every interaction.
- You’ve developed and shipped user‑facing features using component‑based UI frameworks.
- You’re familiar with current trends and best practices in front‑end architecture, including performance, security, and usability.
- You’re familiar with product and design lifecycles and collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.
- You write high‑quality, well‑tested code to meet the needs of customers.
- You’ve worked on front‑end teams in the finance or compliance space.
- You have at least one year of experience developing React Native mobile apps or helping migrate native apps to React Native.
Pay Transparency Notice : The target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full‑time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
