The Strategic Sourcing Manager works with Curtiss Wright project teams, suppliers, and Engineering to provide sourcing project support, determine technology design approaches, and align supplier capabilities to deliver cost and quality advantages. Serves as a liaison for cross‑functional sourcing participation, with a proven track record of managing commodity supply at both tactical and strategic levels, driving supplier relationship management and procurement needs within a global services model. The role is responsible for managing global supplier/distributor relationships and serves as the primary Supply Chain interface for Curtiss Wright’s Embedded Computing business units for NPI cost optimization across commodities.

Salary Range: $103,900 – $138,500 plus bonus opportunity

Responsibilities
  • Steer all sourcing activities in close association with Program/Component Manufacturing/Mechanical and Quality teams across Curtiss Wright (CW)
  • Negotiate SOWs, pricing, lead times, VMI, customer flow‑down, and other key requirements with Distributors based on Curtiss Wright business objectives
  • Serve as an active product development team member in all phases of the sourcing processes to ensure cross‑functional objectives of New Product Development/NPI
  • Negotiate and incorporate terms into supply agreements or contracts where appropriate
  • Work with the Operations team to identify, evaluate, implement, and monitor value‑added Distributor services that can improve efficiency, delivery and optimize total cost
  • Lead QBRs with key portfolio suppliers, partnering with other CW functions/departments to consolidate input, drive key messages, identify and manage corrective action plans
  • Support all PDRs and CDRs for new product development (Preliminary/ Critical Design Review) and work with the technical team to support cost targets as well as pricing for high‑cost components
  • Serve as project lead for all Contract Manufacturing (CM) and machined supplier transactions and set up PRRs (Product Readiness Reviews)
  • Work with the Quality department to support product conformity issues and participate in supplier site audits as required
  • Act as Sourcing team member and provide SC support as needed for all sites and manage SCM activities for multiple sites
  • Create QBR reports and review with Sr Staff
  • Lead cost negotiations for high‑cost components and initiate long‑term contracts to secure pricing and lead times
  • Obtain forecasts from BU’s and provide to key contract manufacturers
  • Conduct new supplier research and development activities and drive supplier approvals
  • Act as point of escalation for vendor‑related issues, using influence and negotiation skills working with various functions both internally and externally to find solutions that meet Curtiss Wright’s business needs
  • Define, establish, and execute processes to enable Supply Chain proactive engagement with business units to support new product roadmap costing
Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience in Supply Management including commodity sourcing, negotiating, and management
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement with Electronics, Machining, and knowledge of PWB/PCB
  • Experience in Distributor engagements strongly preferred
  • Experience managing supply chain in compliance with AS9100 requirements
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing knowledge / experience will be an asset
  • Working knowledge ERP (SAP) desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business Administration or Engineering preferred
  • Solid organization skills with the ability to manage strategic, operational, and tactical responsibilities in a “roll up the sleeves” hands‑on culture focused on delivering results
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and collaboration, with the ability to develop and sustain strong relationships at all levels with internal peers and partners, as well as suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills and a talent in seeking out relevant benchmarking and other data to build compelling pricing arguments and business cases
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record in successfully concluding and executing vendor agreements structured to meet corporate objectives
