Team Description

The Dropbox Engineering Team builds technology that creates more enlightened ways of working for millions of users. Our platforms—including Dropbox Dash, Dropbox Sign, and the core sync engine—handle over a billion files daily, creating engineering challenges at scale. We use Python, React, Node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Android development to solve interesting problems. We think like a startup but build for an enterprise, transforming how people work. Areas of work include Machine Learning, Infrastructure, Product Frontend and Backend, Mobile (iOS & Android), Engineering Management, Data Engineering, Software Testing, Security, Reliability, Technical Program Management, and more.

Role Description

DocSend is one of Dropbox’s fastest-growing businesses, experiencing double-digit year-over-year growth. We’re focused on expanding our Virtual Data Room business by improving deal workflows and introducing AI-enabled features. As an Engineering Manager on the DocSend team, you’ll thrive if you love chasing impact, working through ambiguity, and developing a culture of innovation. You’ll lead a full‑stack product engineering team of ~11 engineers, driving direct business and customer impact independently. You’ll work closely with direct reports, cross‑functional partners, and other teams to build the future of Dropbox. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for driving results in a collaborative, virtual‑first environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a full‑stack product engineering team of ~11 direct reports
  • Partner with a Product Manager and Designer to plan roadmaps and sprints
  • Own execution for your team through standard Agile processes to deliver results for customers
  • Drive engineering excellence by helping the team balance technical requirements and business goals, maintaining quality
  • Foster talent development by supporting personal growth, career advancement, and diverse hiring practices
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture with high accountability and autonomy
Requirements
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of people‑management experience with an engineering team
  • Minimum of 5 years as a software engineer or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience collaborating with a Product Manager to set direction
  • Experience running standard Agile processes such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building web apps with Ruby on Rails and React
  • Experience in high‑ambiguity environments (startup or new initiative)
Compensation

Canada Pay Range: $184,500—$249,500 CAD (annual salary/OTE). Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
