Our direct client is looking for Process Excellence Engineer for a full-time direct hire in the Toronto / Mississauga Canada area.
OverviewThe Process Excellence Engineer is a key driver of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role is responsible for the analysis, design, and optimization of organizational processes to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, enhance quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The Process Excellence Engineer will lead cross-functional project teams, apply process improvement methodologies, and use data-driven insights to achieve measurable business results.

- Locations: Toronto / Mississauga Canada area (onsite to start, possible hybrid 3 days/week onsite)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Onsite Interview is required. Local candidates, no relocation.
Salary : $135k - $170k Canadian Dollars (salary based on overall experience)
Key responsibilities- Analyze existing workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement using tools like process mapping and value stream mapping.
- Lead and execute process improvement projects following Lean, Six Sigma (DMAIC), and Kaizen methodologies to deliver improvements in quality, cost, and lead time.
- Collect and analyze data, including KPIs, to measure process performance, establish baselines, and monitor the effectiveness of changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, manufacturing, quality assurance, IT) to implement process changes and ensure successful adoption.
- Provide training and coaching on Lean and Six Sigma principles to build internal capability and foster a continuous improvement mindset.
- Develop, maintain, and update SOPs, process documentation, and flow diagrams for consistency and clarity.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process failures or quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the scale-up of new products or materials from development into full production.
- Stay up to date with new process engineering technologies, tools, and methodologies to drive innovation.
- Must have Medical Device experience – 8 to 10 years .
- Must have at least 5 years of product development experience .
- IVD would be a plus
- Startup experience preferable
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment with demonstrated success in driving process improvements.
- Must be a Six Sigma Black Belt (Green Belt may be sufficient for the right candidate, if they are senior and highly capable).
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen .
- Experience running multiple Kaizens and leading teams in Kaizen events (2–3 years in lead roles).
- Strong product development and manufacturing support experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and process simulation software.
- Analytical thinking: ability to dissect complex processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Problem-solving: proactive in identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
- Attention to detail: meticulous in documenting processes and monitoring performance.
- Collaboration: strong teamwork and communication with cross-functional groups.
- Adaptability: comfortable with change in dynamic environments.
- Change management: ability to drive business changes while minimizing impact on employees.
