The Lead Program Aide (RBT Trained) provides direct support to individuals in the program while serving as a mentor and resource for program aides, behavior aides, and teachers. This role combines leadership responsibilities with specialized skills in behavior support, utilizing RBT training to implement behavior plans, collect data, and promote positive outcomes. The Lead Program Aide is responsible for supervising and instructing classrooms in accordance with program procedures as well as helping to ensure program teachers, behavior aides and program aides are adequately performing their responsibilities. This position reports to the Program Director. This is a full-time position, non-exempt position.

- Understand and apply the foundational techniques of applied behavior analysis.
- Chooses approaches that are respectful, age appropriate, and motivating.
- Prioritize functional communication and facilitate the development of replacement behaviors for clients.
- Implement goals and collect data.
- Communicate frequently and proactively with team members.
- Maintain professional composure while working with a variety of clients, including those that engage in self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or clients exhibiting frustration, aggressive or repetitive behaviors.
- Implement ABA treatment programs under the design and supervision of a BCBA and guide direct support staff in utilizing plans.
- Provide floor supervision during program hours.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages client independence and active participation.
- Provide oversight to program teachers and program aides, ensuring responsibilities are performed effectively and professionally.
- Supervise and instruct classrooms in alignment with program policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff by modeling best practices, setting a positive example, and supporting their development through guidance, feedback, coaching, and encouragement.
- Assist program groups as needed to help ensure adequate coverage and support for all clients.
- Create and generate weekly and daily staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all program activities.
- Support the Program directors by creating daily assignments for staff.
- Supervise program aides/behavior aides and ensure compliance with break schedules and coverage.
- Assist consumers with hygiene/personal care as needed.
- Report changes in consumers' condition to the Program Directors.
- Document consumer progress in accordance with regulations and procedures
- Participate in the development of client individual service plans.
- Provide training policies and procedures for new and existing staff.
- Pass medication training and administer when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Program Directors or Program Administrator.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification (required)
- Ability to move quickly and engage in physical interventions when needed (specifically requires agility to bend/stoop, lift/hold up to 50 lbs., and to physically support the client's weight using appropriate procedures and team supports)
- Knowledge of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) or other courses in psychology (preferred)
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate in English.
- Must be able to interact with families and other agencies in person and over the phone.
- Must be able to use a computer, especially Microsoft Office programs in order to create list, spreadsheets, etc.
- Must have flexibility to adapt to program needs and schedules.
- Must meet program requirements for background checks, driving record, and other compliance standards.
