At CenTex Injury and Worker's Comp, we specialize in both Federal and State Workers' Compensation claims, as well as personal Injury. Our staff serves four locations, each with a physical therapy facility, and two locations with an aquatic therapy pool. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 until 5:30, with a half day on Friday from 8:00 until noon. Learn more at
Medical Assistant Functions:
- Politely and efficiently room patients and record chief complaints.
- Record detailed medical, surgical, medication, and allergy history.
- Accurately take and record patient vital signs.
- Successfully complete venipuncture and administer intramuscular injections.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures.
- Maintain exam room sterility and organization.
Front Office Functions:
- Always provide exceptional customer service.
- Welcome and check-in patients for their scheduled appointments.
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by ensuring the collection of all necessary documentation.
- Collect and apply payments of services and products.
- Verifies patient health benefits with approved health care companies.
- Complete patient referrals or medical record requests.
- Answer the phone, direct calls to the appropriate party, and take messages in a detailed manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patient arrival, being aware of delays.
- Keep office supplies adequately stocked.
- Keep the reception area clean and organized.
- Work in a team environment to accomplish common tasks.
- Maintain a positive relationship with providers and patients.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience in outpatient and internal medicine settings
- Proficiency in medical administrative support
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands:
Requires intermittent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, fine manipulation, and simple grasping. Must occasionally lift and/or push/pull items up to 20 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
