Job Overview
East Bay Deli is seeking a dynamic and energetic General Manager to lead our restaurant operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of daily functions, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and team engagement. Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of managers, cashiers, cooks, and support staff to deliver outstanding food service and hospitality.
- Oversee all restaurant operations, including food preparation, kitchen management, and front-of-house service.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards, health regulations, and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Supervise shift management by coordinating schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.
- Implement staff training programs focused on food handling, customer service excellence, POS system operation, and food safety practices.
- Monitor financial performance through budgeting, cost control, and sales analysis to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Handle cash management duties including cash handling procedures and reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Conduct interviews, hire new team members, and participate in ongoing staff development initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure quality food production aligns with East Bay Deli's brand standards and menu offerings.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of restaurant management experience, with at least 1–2 years as a General Manager in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Proven leadership in quick service, fast casual, or casual dining establishments; deli or sandwich shop experience is a strong plus.
- Strong background in food industry operations including food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety protocols.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, training & development, and interviewing skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and sales tracking.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices along with budgeting expertise for cost management.
- Ability to lead with energy and enthusiasm while maintaining attention to detail across multiple responsibilities.
