About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and data-driven CRO Manager to join our eCommerce team. In this newly created, hands-on role, you’ll shape and implement our conversion rate optimisation (CRO) roadmap from day one. You’ll lead the test-and-learn agenda, designing, executing, and analysing A/B to directly enhance customer experience and drive sales performance.
Your impact
* Develop and deliver Newcastle United’s CRO strategy, identifying optimisation opportunities across website, mobile, and app.
* Plan, run, and analyse A/B and multivariate tests to improve conversion rates, customer journeys, and checkout flows.
* Collaborate with Web Trading, CRM, eCommerce, and Marketing teams to align testing with campaigns and trading activity.
* Partner with CRM, Design, and Content teams to deliver personalised, high-converting experiences.
* Monitor and report on key CRO KPIs, sharing actionable insights across the team.
* Research competitor activity and industry best practice to bring new ideas to the programme.
* Embed a test-and-learn culture within the eCommerce function.
About You
* Significant experience in CRO, digital optimisation, or eCommerce.
* Hands-on experience with CRO platforms (Optimizely, AB Tasty, Monetate, or similar).
* CMS experience with Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar (Shopify Plus experience highly desirable).
* Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, personalisation, and funnel optimisation.
* Proven track record of running successful A/B or multivariate testing programmes.
* Confident working with data; experience in Google Analytics (GA4 certification desirable).
* Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.
* Interest in sports/football and understanding of customer mindset is a plus.
