Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this role, you will work closely with Consumers in a home setting to promote independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives through personalized care and support.

Duties

  • Assist consumers with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
  • Support consumers during meal preparation and nutritional needs, including cooking and feeding assistance
  • Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each consumers needs
  • Observe and document consumers behavior, health status, and progress while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely and effectively
  • Engage consumers in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and independence
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks.
  • Recognize signs of medical emergencies or behavioral issues and respond appropriately by following protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive care

Skills

  • Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly desirable
  • Ability to assist with ADLs using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
  • Strong understanding of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient safety protocols including HIPAA compliance
  • Excellent communication skills for working effectively with consumers, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate caregiving attitude with patience and empathy for individuals with developmental disabilities or health challenges
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards
  • Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to dietary needs of residents

Pay: $ $17.50 per hour
