Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Field Quality Technician to ensure product and process quality during and after installation at customer sites. What You'll Do

As a Field Quality Technician, you'll validate warranty compliance, perform inspections and audits, and coordinate resolution of issues during arrival, assembly, oil filling, and testing phases. You'll serve as a key liaison between Delta Star and customers, ensuring quality standards are met and warranty claims are managed effectively.

A Day in the Life

Your day will involve reviewing installation requirements, hosting inspections, and documenting nonconformances. You'll collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve issues, maintain quality records, and support training for field service personnel. Occasionally, you'll travel to customer sites to perform audits or assist with problem resolution.

Specific Duties

  • Promote and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining process documentation.
  • Perform and host inspections and audits; write, assign, and process nonconformances and corrective actions.
  • Manage nonconforming material and maintain quality records and pictures.
  • Maintain and calibrate measurement and test equipment.
  • Assist with analysis and actions in response to performance metrics.
  • Support training of field service personnel on quality requirements.
  • Verify installation manual requirements are met for warranty validation.
  • Review, document, and coordinate resolution of issues during arrival, transport, installation, oil filling, and testing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Logistics, Sales, Safety, Finance) and external resources.
  • Communicate with customers and sales teams to maintain updates and validate satisfactory resolution.
  • Coordinate warranty claims and manage related documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve field service procedures and templates.
  • Occasionally perform inspections, audits, or problem resolution activities at customer or supplier sites.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly organized and professional technician with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or field service.
  • Certification or technical trade program may substitute for experience (electrical, welding).
  • Experience using measurement tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures).
  • Prior experience in transformer manufacturing, quality, or field service preferred.
  • Warranty administration experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and video conferencing tools (Teams, WebEx, Zoom).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S.-based positions.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel (< 15%), typically for site coordination or inspections.
