CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

Irvine United Congregational Church (IUCC) is seeking one (1) Church Administrator. The Church Administrator ensures the smooth and welcoming daily operation of Irvine United Congregational Church. Reporting to the Senior Pastor, this position coordinates office administration, communication systems, facility scheduling, and database management, serving as the primary point of contact for the congregation and community.
The ideal candidate is organized, people-oriented, tech-savvy, and able to balance attention to detail with hospitality and teamwork. This role is central to supporting IUCC's progressive ministry and vibrant congregational life, contributing actively to staff collaboration, church culture, and mission-driven operations.

This multi-role position requires exceptional professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational strength. Primary responsibilities include office management, clerical support for the Senior Pastor, maintaining official church records, coordinating meetings and events, managing membership and contribution tracking, and serving as the primary point of contact for members, visitors, contractors, and service providers. The role also includes partnering with our bookkeeping company, ensuring smooth campus operations across three buildings, and collaborating with staff—especially the Digital Storyteller—to maintain timely and accurate communications.
This position is 30 hours per week pay range between $25-28/hour (W-2), with some benefits available. Candidates should have 3–5 years of administrative experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and church members. Bachelors degree preferred. Proficiency in facilities management, and church or nonprofit settings is highly desirable.
Additional desired proficiencies:
- Canva or similar design platforms for basic print and digital materials
- Constant Contact, MailChimp, or comparable email marketing tools
- Database management systems (e.g., Breeze or other CRM/membership platforms)
- Familiarity with social media applications and digital communication tools
- Experience working with financial management software such as QuickBooks (helpful but not required)
- Strong general tech skills: cloud-based systems (Google Workspace, Dropbox), scheduling tools, and office equipment
