Position Summary
The Swatch Assistant Manager supports the Swatch Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Swatch Department, including production, ordering, inventory, and workflow coordination. This role helps manage staff, maintain accurate data and supplies, and ensure timely fulfillment of all swatch and sales aid needs.
Position Details
Leadership & Department Operations
- Support the Swatch Manager in all department functions (fabric, leather, trim, finish chips, and sales aids).
- Oversee daily workflow and staff to meet quality standards and shipping deadlines.
- Assist in enforcing HR and safety policies and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Respond to special order or project requests from internal teams.
Training & Safety
- Train employees on all job functions, equipment use, and safety procedures.
- Maintain proficiency on all department equipment and processes.
Order Processing & Inventory
- Process orders from multiple systems and ensure accurate data entry.
- Place purchase orders for materials and supplies; process vendor invoices as needed.
- Maintain department inventory, conduct regular counts, and communicate reorder needs.
Shipping, Receiving & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with pulling, preparing, and shipping swatch orders.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with vendors.
- Obtain printed labels and materials from local vendors as needed.
System Accuracy & Reporting
- Maintain reports and inventory data across systems.
- Review and verify SAP data for new materials and communicate corrections to Merchandising.
Market & Seasonal Support
- Operate the company van to transport materials and staff for High Point market preparation.
- Support seasonal updates with Merchandising and Marketing, including setup of new materials.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Requires at least 5 years of related experience, preferably in a team lead capacity.
- Must have previous industrial sewing experience.
- Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions required
- Basic math skills required
- Must be proficient on computers with email, Microsoft Excel & Word. Knowledge of SAP a plus.
- Good communication and decision-making skills are required
