Friendship is looking for Full-Time Dietary Aides to join our Richfield Assisted Living team, located in Salem, VA. The Dietary Aide is responsible for providing food service to residents, guests and employees under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

Shifts Available: 

  • Varied evening shifts, includes every other weekend
  • Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares beverages for residents
  • Prepares food items such as sandwiches, desserts, salads, snack trays and beverages, etc. Place items such as utensils, napkins, condiments on trays.
  • Assist with delivery of food items to residents when needed
  • Clean and sanitize all areas in dining room, and designed "back of house" areas such as stock rooms, employee bathroom and chemical storage areas.
  • Clears tables and cleans/sanitizes tables in dining room.
  • General cleaning of dining room floors, walls, windows, etc.
  • Occasionally operates as dishwasher
  • Reports for assigned shift in proper attire (closed toe shoes, hairnet, clean appropriate clothing/uniform, etc.)
  • Correctly and safely operates kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation, service and cleaning (ex: dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, freezers, carts, serving utensils, blender can open, coffee makers, toasters, etc.)
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
