Job Description

A Day in the Life

• Performs and maintains proficiency in a full range of inpatient and outpatient pulmonary diagnostic studies for adult and older pediatric patients, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion, NIF/MEP, MVV, airway resistance, bronchial challenge, exercise-induced bronchospasm testing, pulmonary exercise studies, and ambulatory oximetry.
• Ensures accurate operation and reliability of diagnostic equipment through routine calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, service/repair, documentation updates, and evaluation of new equipment for potential purchase.
• Supports the Respiratory Therapy Department by fulfilling RRT duties on an occasional basis to maintain safe and efficient patient care.
• Manages documentation, billing, and administrative responsibilities, including charging for all procedures, supplying billing information for interpreting physicians, and maintaining service/maintenance records.
• Maintains essential clinical competencies and compliance requirements, including current BLS certification, basic respiratory care skills for emergencies, participation in mandatory education and proficiency testing, and availability to travel to offsite testing locations as needed.

Qualifications

What's Required

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Certified (C-PFT) or Registered (R-PFT) Pulmonary Function Technologist through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred
• Prior experience in pulmonary diagnostics preferred

Additional Information

Schedule: Day shift, 6:42am start time, 32-40 hours per week
