Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, including production scheduling, staffing, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, etc.). This role requires an individual with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence and improve production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of operators, technicians, and assembly personnel in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment. Provide guidance, motivation, and professional development to ensure effective team performance.
  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring that manufacturing targets are met while maintaining the highest quality standards. Coordinate production schedules with other departments to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products are manufactured in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO Monitor product quality, review inspection reports, and address any non-conformances or corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles where applicable.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies and guidelines. Conduct regular safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance.
  • Training & Development: Ensure all manufacturing team members are adequately trained on company policies, product specifications, and production processes. Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including inventory logs, production reports, and quality assurance documentation. Prepare regular reports for management on key performance metrics, such as production output, quality, and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve operational or equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime. Work with engineering and maintenance teams to address any mechanical or technical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques is a plus.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus but not required.
