We are currently seeking a Remote Assistant Operator Technician to work ONSITE at Los Alamitos Racetrack in Cypress, CA.

*** This is not a REMOTE position ***

Work Shift: (Thurs & Fri 8 AM - 6 PM) 10 hour shift AND (Shift - Sat. 12:30 pm - 10:30 pm and Sun. 11:30 am - 9:30 pm for live racing) 10 hour shift

Industry: Gaming Industry/Racetracks - Computer Software, Entertainment

Experience: 0-1 years preferred Will Train – no experience necessary

Position: Full-Time Permanent Position w/benefits Union Position

Union Dues: Varies - bi-weekly

Probationary Pd: 6 Months

Benefits: 90 Day Waiting Period after you become a Permanent Employee

Work Schedule: Hours Vary - including holidays and weekends.

Pay Rate: $22.27 to start, employee will then receive an increase at 6 months, 1 yr and 2 yrs then annually thereafter

SUMMARY:

Provides on-site, hands on technical ability and computer operating skills required to maintain AmTote's wagering equipment. Provides efficient service to the customer, working in a live and non-live race environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates wagering system and/or all peripheral equipment or system associated with AmTote's service.
  • Generates necessary reports as required by customer mutuel departments and state regulatory agencies.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs or supervises repair of equipment associated with AmTote.
  • Follow AmTote safety procedures.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • 0 to 1 years' experience
  • High School Diploma and additional education a plus
  • IT background a plus
  • Basic Computer Operation – should have an understanding of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, 7, 10 – Excel spreadsheets.
  • Will need to drive and operate our company vehicle(s). Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, works well with people, including other employees, the general public and customers.
  • Experience changing computer video resolution, how to change hard drive parameters and how to use a digital voltmeter.
  • Experience using "ping".
  • Understanding software drives such as sound cards, video cards and printers.
  • Basic understanding of basic electrical principles.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds short distances.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible, and reliable.
  • Ability to learn quickly, detailed oriented, take direction, work, and communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Basic industry knowledge, such as a superfecta is 4, Kentucky Derby is 1st Sat in May, etc.
  • Preferred Experience and/or Education: Knowledge of horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, gaming, sports wagering and/or social marketplace industries; Experience in a start-up environment; Experience or working knowledge in any of the following areas: social media, events, customer service and sales; Proficiency with the Spanish language.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Position is based at Los Alamitos Racetrack in Cypress, CA.
