Position Title: Facilities Supervisor

PURPOSE:
Direct and work alongside facilities assistants to ensure the cleanliness of all buildings across Minnetrista's 40-acre campus. Primarily responsible for oversight of 2nd shift activities, with the expectation of flexible scheduling. Facilities include a 40,000 sq. ft. museum building, historic buildings, and additional staff/public buildings. Handle set-up and tear down for internal and external events in collaboration with other staff and departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One to three (1-3) years of facilities management, janitorial supervision, or related field experience; museum experience preferred.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and leadership abilities; strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and organization, dependable, able to prioritize tasks for self and team.
- Work well with others regardless of age or background as a hands-on supervisor.
- Understand and comply with OSHA guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, organize, coach, and train staff while working alongside them to accomplish tasks; coordinate with manager to determine tasks and projects to oversee.
- Recommend to the facilities manager any training for self and team towards continuous improvement.
- Follow up to ensure all buildings are cleaned, sanitized and maintained to a high standard.
- Ensure the security of all buildings and outdoor gated areas by overseeing nightly closing routines.
- Identify and promptly report any building issues to appropriate staff; resolve hazards in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all room, event and program set ups are accurately completed in a timely manner using diagrams and organizational calendar.
- Create and follow up on the completion of the daily checklist; document routine inspections, including monthly fire extinguisher checks.
- Set up, tear down and properly store AV equipment.
- Facilitate institutional activities by responding to client needs and assisting with operation of technology.
- Participate in regular training on safe operation of all lifts, utility vehicles and golf carts.
- Perform all other duties required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is both indoors and outdoors. Travel required between buildings in all weather conditions.
Work schedule flexibility is critical; will need to work evenings and weekends and be able to move about the entire Minnetrista 40-acre campus. Must be able to work in an office environment but primarily in various other spaces and storage areas. Additional physical requirements are standing and climbing stairs for extended periods of time on any work day. Possibility of some exposure to hazards and moderate to high noise levels. Typical responsibilities of general maintenance required including pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crawling, and crouching. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. At times, must be able to work a seven-day work schedule with various hours. A valid driver's license is required.
