We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Material Handler at our state-of-the-art facility in Portland, Oregon. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. Your efficiency and diligence will directly contribute to the overall productivity of our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Pick and stage materials for production or shipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow all established procedures for material handling and safety.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Experience with inventory control systems is beneficial.
- Physical ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must wear all required PPE, including steel-toed boots and high-visibility vests.
- Knowledge of logistics best practices is an advantage.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
