Our San Jose, California facility is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our logistics team. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for accurately tracking, managing, and reconciling inventory within our warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining precise stock levels, preventing discrepancies, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure data integrity and resolve any inventory-related issues. A strong understanding of inventory management principles and a commitment to accuracy are essential. This position may require moderate physical activity, including some lifting and standing, and adherence to all safety guidelines and PPE requirements is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified during counts or through system reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Track the movement of inventory within the warehouse, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Assist in managing stock rotation (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out).
- Generate inventory reports for management as required.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to reconcile stock levels.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete inventory items.
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse safety procedures and the proper use of PPE .
- Support the broader logistics team with inventory-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE .
- Good organizational and time management skills.
