We are currently seeking a Part-Time French Instructor to teach on-site small-group French classes at our Burnaby (Metrotown) campus.
Role Description
The French Instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical French language instruction to adult learners. This is a part-time, on-site teaching role with a primary focus on classroom instruction, student engagement, and learning progress.
Duties and Responsibilities
l Deliver French language instruction to adult learners (A0–B1 levels)
l Teach core language skills including speaking, listening, reading, and writing
l Support students' overall French proficiency development, including program-based learning aligned with TEF/TCF objectives
l Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons based on the approved curriculum
l Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and class participation
l Maintain basic attendance and grading records in a timely manner
l Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for learners from diverse cultural backgrounds
Qualifications
l Master's degree in French, Education, or a related field is preferred
l Minimum of two years of French teaching experience, ideally with adult learners
l Fluency in both French and English
l Strong understanding of adult learning principles and communicative teaching methodologies
l Experience teaching international students or immigrant learners is considered an asset
l Reliable, well-organized, and professional classroom presence
l Teaching certification or equivalent professional experience is considered an asset but not mandatory.
Schedule
l Part-time, on-site position
l Primarily evening classes
l Morning or weekend availability is an asset
l Expected hours range from 6 to 12 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits
l Hourly rate: $35 per hour
l Vacation pay provided after completing 30 working days
