Job Description
We are partnering with a well-established property management and real estate organization in Halifax to recruit a full-time, permanent Accounts Payable Administrator.
This role is a great fit for an accounting professional who thrives on accuracy, enjoys solving financial puzzles, and takes pride in keeping operations running seamlessly.
- Code, enter, and process vendor invoices accurately and in accordance with internal controls
- Prepare and process payment runs
- Monitor and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
- Prepare client sales invoices and follow up on accounts receivable
- Maintain journals, ledgers, and supporting financial documentation
- Perform bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries
- Track invoice and payment timelines, escalating delays as needed
- Apply for permits and manage related documentation, as required
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounts payable focused role
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in Sage50 (Simply Accounting) is required
- Strong use of MS Excel and other accounting software
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Professional communication skills and willingness to support a collaborative team environment
Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000 per year
