Role Description

The Manager, Enterprise Architecture is a hands-on leadership position responsible for implementing the technology architecture strategy, vision, and roadmap in alignment with the organization's strategic plan. This role requires a technical leader who can manage Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects in a complex technology environment through effective communication and collaboration with business and IT leadership. The Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of enterprise architecture initiatives, developing team competencies, and communicating progress to the VP of Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Integration and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As manager of the Enterprise and Solution Architecture team, the Manager will work with internal and external technical resources, and with business partners to fulfill these responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and deployment of enterprise technology architecture solutions that are aligned with company-wide objectives

  • Manage day-to-day enterprise architecture activities and ensure successful delivery of architecture services to achieve the objectives of the EA function

  • Lead the identification and analysis of business drivers to develop enterprise architecture requirements in collaboration with senior leadership

  • Provide leadership to Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects by guiding and developing direct reports, encouraging collaboration and diversity of thought, and ensuring optimal resources and structures are in place to support the enterprise architecture function

  • Monitor current technology industry and market trends to assess their potential impact on QuadReal's enterprise architecture and provide recommendations to senior leadership

  • Ensure architecture impacts, risks and dependencies are identified and managed, and that governance processes are followed (e.g., Architecture/Technology Review Board)

  • Own and oversee the Product Impact Review (PIR) process, ensuring thorough assessment of proposed technology initiatives and their impact on the enterprise architecture landscape

  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of enterprise architecture governance structures and standards based on industry best practices and business needs

  • Establish and enforce standardization of architecture processes, principles, and methodologies across the enterprise architecture team to ensure consistency and quality in architecture deliverables

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering professional growth and building technical expertise across the enterprise architecture practice

  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships with key technology partners

  • Lead architecture initiatives and projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives

Education and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7-8 years' industry experience, with at least 3-4 years working in a solution/enterprise architecture or technical architect role in complex, multisite environments

  • University degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, business, or a similar discipline is desirable. Relevant designations are an asset, such as Microsoft Solution Architect certifications, TOGAF, SAFe or other Agile certifications, CBAP or other business analysis certifications, CISSP, CDMP, SEI, ITIL or COBIT certifications

  • Experience with cloud-based SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS technologies

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and related technologies including machine learning (ML), large language models (LLMs), and emerging AI/ML platforms and their application in enterprise architecture

  • Strong project management and people management skills including planning, budgetary control, team development, and performance management

  • Understanding of architectural principles including performance, scalability, security, availability, and flexibility, and how to design for them

  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis and data mapping

  • Awareness of applicable data privacy practices and laws including GDPR, PIPEDA, and PCI-DSS compliance requirements

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $155,000.

Based on the position, QuadReal offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to the base pay, which may include a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, pension plan, and paid time off.
