About the Role We're hiring a Shipping & Packaging Associate to support our shipping department by packaging finished machined parts for delivery to customers and helping with day-to-day shop logistics.
This role is on our Day Shift (Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm).
This is an entry-level role – no prior manufacturing experience required. We're hiring for attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn. Training will be provided.
You'll work closely with the Shipping Manager and spend most of your day carefully packaging parts, preparing orders for shipment, making local deliveries, and helping wherever needed in the shop. Every part that leaves our building passes through shipping, so this role plays a critical part in our operation.
This position is ideal for someone looking for steady full-time work, a supportive team, and long-term career growth.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Package machined parts according to customer and internal instructions.
- Prepare orders for shipment and ensure parts are protected and labeled correctly.
- Drive a company F-150 for local deliveries and supply pickups.
- Receive and inspect parts returning from subcontractors.
- Assist the finishing department with light post-machining handwork when needed.
- Record completed work in our ERP system (training provided).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Support general shop needs and basic equipment upkeep.
- With training, occasionally cover shipping and receiving duties during vacations or absences, including preparing shipping paperwork, coordinating couriers, receiving material, and operating an automated horizontal bandsaw.
What We're Looking For:
- Class 5 driver's licence.
- Physically able to lift and move parts and packages.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Comfortable using a computer for basic data entry.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Safety-conscious and respectful of shop procedures.
- Comfortable working in a busy, active production environment.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to review our core values before applying: Compensation and Benefits:
- $18–22/hour, with opportunities for overtime.
- Extended health and dental benefits.
- Health and lifestyle spending accounts.
- Life and disability insurance.
- Paid vacation starting at 2 weeks, increasing to 3 weeks after 5 years.
- Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
- Company-provided uniforms and safety equipment.
- Safety boot allowance.
- Company events and team offsites.
Growth Opportunities As Mahler continues to grow, strong performers in this role have opportunities to move into shipping and receiving, quality, production, or office roles. We promote from within whenever possible.
