Our Des Moines, Iowa location is seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to oversee the preparation and dispatch of all outbound goods. This is a vital role in our logistics network, ensuring that products reach their destinations accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for creating shipping documentation, coordinating with transportation providers, and confirming the accuracy of each shipment before it leaves the warehouse. Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for success in this position, as is a strong understanding of shipping best practices. You will work collaboratively with warehouse associates and management to streamline the shipping process. Experience with various shipping software and carrier systems is highly desirable. Your role contributes significantly to our company's operational success and customer satisfaction. We are committed to maintaining a safe work environment, and all team members are expected to utilize provided PPE and adhere to strict safety protocols. Occasional lifting of packages up to 50 lbs may be necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for logistics and organization.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and prepare all outgoing shipments.
- Generate necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Liaise with freight carriers to schedule deliveries and track shipments.
- Perform quality checks on packages before dispatch.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
- Ensure adherence to all company and regulatory shipping requirements.
- Manage warehouse shipping supplies.
- Support warehouse operations as needed.
