Our expanding **logistics** operation in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking skilled Forklift Operators. This role is crucial for managing the movement of goods within our distribution center, ensuring timely and **safe** handling of materials. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, demonstrable experience, and a strong commitment to **safety** protocols and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs or **safety** concerns immediately.
- Transport goods from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to shipping docks.
- Ensure all **safety** regulations are followed, including the proper use of **PPE** and adherence to load capacity guidelines.
- Assist with inventory control through accurate placement and movement of stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring pathways are clear to prevent accidents.
- Follow **lifting** guidelines for manual handling when necessary.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet **logistics** targets.
- Participate in all required **safety** training and promote a culture of vigilance and **safety** awareness.
- Verify accuracy of shipments being loaded or unloaded.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong knowledge of forklift operation, **safety** procedures, and material handling best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and **safety** signs.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **lifting** up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Understanding of warehouse **logistics** and inventory management principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a **safe** work environment and adhering to all **PPE** requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic focused on **safety**.
