We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our busy facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is essential for the accurate and efficient processing of incoming goods. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and documenting any discrepancies. A meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to Safety are key. This position plays a vital part in our overall logistics and inventory management process. Proper use of PPE is required throughout your shift.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming products for any damage or defects and report issues immediately.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory management system.
- Tag and prepare items for distribution to appropriate departments or warehouse locations.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move incoming merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks as needed, including moderate Lifting.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and logistics personnel.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a similar warehouse role is preferred. Must have strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to perform moderate Lifting and operate warehouse equipment is beneficial. Familiarity with inventory management software and logistics operations is a plus. A strong commitment to Safety and consistent use of PPE are mandatory. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good communication and problem-solving skills. This role requires reliability and accuracy in all tasks performed. Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
