We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our logistics operations in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will encompass receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as assisting with inventory management. We are committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment, and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory. This includes the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests, gloves, and eye protection. The role requires physical stamina, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and the ability to handle lifting up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials accurately.
- Sort and organize materials for distribution and use.
- Transport materials within the facility using appropriate equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand labels, tags, and work orders.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to use PPE.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with good communication abilities.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
