Join our thriving logistics operations in Nashville, Tennessee, as a Material Handler! We are looking for energetic and dependable individuals to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is fundamental to our supply chain, ensuring that products are moved efficiently and safely from one point to another. You will be operating various equipment to transport goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and contributing to a well-organized and productive work environment. The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials according to established procedures. Your role will involve significant physical activity, including substantial Lifting and carrying, as well as operating machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory. You will be involved in inventory management tasks, helping to maintain accurate stock levels and identify any stock discrepancies. Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to production or shipping areas.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles and work areas are clear.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and prepare them for shipment.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective materials.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper function.
- Support other warehouse operations as needed to meet team goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification may be required).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
