We are seeking a proactive Material Handler to join our dedicated **logistics** team in Portland, Oregon. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the movement, organization, and preparation of materials for various stages of our **logistics** process. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, stocking inventory, and assisting with order fulfillment. A strong commitment to **Safety** is essential, requiring strict adherence to all operational procedures and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This physically demanding position requires regular **Lifting** of heavy items, bending, and standing for extended periods. We are looking for dependable, energetic individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic. Previous experience operating warehouse machinery and a valid forklift certification are highly valued. As a Material Handler, you will contribute significantly to inventory accuracy and operational efficiency, ensuring the timely and safe handling of all goods. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from storage locations and work areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all **Safety** guidelines and wear appropriate **PPE**.
- Perform routine equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or similar warehouse role.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent **Lifting** up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse **Logistics** and procedures.
- Strong **Safety** awareness and adherence to **PPE** requirements.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
