Job Summary:
A Data Technologist in Data and Analytics plays a key role in Finance, Business Intelligence, Operations & Master Data.

A visionary with data, you will bring creativity and the ability to view short, mid and long term potential in your solutions to dynamic data problems.  You will work collaboratively with IT, Finance and Operations Teams to bring your ideas to fruition.   
 
AI and Machine Learning are changing the landscape of how businesses process, store and maintain data so a Data Technologist will have a high aptitude for learning and applying new data technologies with the ability to train and guide others.
 
As our team incorporates data from multiple ERPs, you have an understanding of how to incorporate master data structures and develop categorization strategies for data to support roll up and drill down of finance/manufacturing transactional data.   Where datasets have disparate or are mis-aligned you have the ability to work with cross functional teams to align terminology and fill the gaps to ensure your final combined dataset represents cohesive data.
 
Our current ecosystem includes Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform making your prior knowledge of ingesting, transforming and storing/loading data using dataflows, notebooks, Power Flows / Logic Apps, lake houses, SQL databases/endpoints and parquet files manipulation will be an asset to the role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate analytics elements, e.g. master data hierarchies, categorization, in your solutions to create a data rich ecosystem that helps make better decisions faster and supports AI Analysis of data.
  • Support the application of data analysis and business insights, to drive data driven decisions in an AI transformational environment. 
  • Support the Director of Data and Analytics, with data and analysis solutions that drive reporting requirements from seed to sale.
  • The selected candidate will need to be both strategic and hands-on. Someone with strong business acumen who brings a practical yet innovative approach to the task of identification and project management of initiatives in support of business and customer initiatives.
  • Strong technical expertise/experience; someone who can deliver analytics solutions that interpret complex, disparate information with thought to future requirements.
  • Establish appropriate audit processes to ensure consistency and alignment of business data and the identification of issues if they do arise.
  • Develop and maintain a work plan that anticipates and evolves with changing priorities and projects across multiple client groups.
  • Ensuring solutions are documented and data mapped where required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned projects and see those projects through to completion.
  • An established track record of providing service excellence and innovative solutions in a dynamic business environment.
  • BS or MS in Business, Computer Science, Engineering and 5+ of progressive business/IT experience combining / maintaining disparate data from multiple systems / data structures.
  • Those with Experience implementing projects in Fabric, Power Platform, CoPilot and Logic Apps will be prioritized.
  • Those with a foundation in Financial concepts will be prioritized.
  • Knowledge of Structuring Master Data to ensure capability for downstream processes to effectively filter and aggregate data for reporting.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Business Central, NAV and Acumatica ERP backend tables is considered an asset.
  • Experience Dashboarding in Power BI, Manipulating Data with Power Query M and Measure building with DAX is a strong asset.

Compensation:  The expected annual base salary range for this role is CAD $70,000-$100,000. If range, please note that the actual offer will be determined based on your skills, experience, education, market benchmarks, and internal equity.
