Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant with experience to join our team. We need someone who will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, using 4 handed dentistry. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting that emphasizes patient comfort, infection control, and professional growth. Prior experience with Dentrix systems and a strong understanding of dental terminology are highly valued. 4 handed dentistry experience is needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take X-rays, including 3D scans
- Record medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems (Dentrix)
- Manage medical documentation and records with attention to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards
- Provide chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology in a clear manner
- Maintain infection control protocols by following proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical coding, and updating patient information in EMR systems
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems ( Dentrix)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards within a dental setting
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and 3D scanner technology
- Strong understanding of dental terminology
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures across multiple specialties
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control practices to ensure patient safety
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
