Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in payroll management systems and accounting software, along with a solid understanding of financial concepts and human resources functions. The Payroll Administrator will play a critical role in supporting our organization's payroll operations, benefits administration, and financial reporting.

Duties

  • Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft to ensure accurate employee compensation.
  • Manage data entry related to payroll transactions, employee hours, benefits, and deductions with precision.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and perform journal entries to ensure proper ledger updates.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
  • Prepare reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and benefits administration for management review.
  • Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee records and process new hires or terminations efficiently.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable related to payroll-related expenses.
  • Support general ledger reconciliation activities and perform analysis of payroll data for accuracy.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all payroll information and maintain secure records in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with financial software like QuickBooks or other accounting tools is preferred.
  • Understanding of human resources processes related to benefits administration and HRIS systems.
  • Experience with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing accuracy and speed.
  • Ability to analyze financial data accurately and identify discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; relevant work experience may substitute education requirements. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $76.81 per hour

Expected hours: 30.98 – 76.98 per week
