Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to a young adult individual with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will support the client in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful environment while participating in daily community activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, strong commitment to client-centered support. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in famliy's life through personalized care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating
- Supporting client in socializing and participating in daily programs in the community
- Provide medication administration
- Able to drive to community programs -clean Driving record
- Ensure safety while client participates in daily programs in community settings
- Observe and monitor client to meet daily needs
- Comfortable with seizure protocols
- Perform light household duties
- Implement individualized support tailored to client's needs
- Engage client in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement.
- Follow all safety procedures including CPR and first aid protocols to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Collaborate with day program staff and family members to coordinate client participation, engagement and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, individuals with disabilities, programs and/or home & community care is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable; ongoing training will be provided if needed.
- Must pass background check, fingerprinting and TB test.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards is essential.
- Experience with medication administration
- Ability to assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, cooking, and light cleaning tasks.
- Comfortable working with individuals with developmental disabilities and seizures
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting client when needed
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; patience and understanding are critical qualities for success in this role.

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
