Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to a young adult individual with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will support the client in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful environment while participating in daily community activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, strong commitment to client-centered support. Responsibilities

• Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating
• Supporting client in socializing and participating in daily programs in the community
• Provide medication administration
• Able to drive to community programs -clean Driving record
• Ensure safety while client participates in daily programs in community settings
• Observe and monitor client to meet daily needs
• Comfortable with seizure protocols
• Perform light household duties
• Implement individualized support tailored to client's needs
• Engage client in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement.
• Follow all safety procedures including CPR and first aid protocols to respond effectively during emergencies.
• Collaborate with day program staff and family members to coordinate client participation, engagement and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, individuals with disabilities, programs and/or home & community care is preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable; ongoing training will be provided if needed.
• Must pass background check, fingerprinting and TB test.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards is essential.
• Experience with medication administration
• Ability to assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, cooking, and light cleaning tasks.
• Comfortable working with individuals with developmental disabilities and seizures
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting client when needed
• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; patience and understanding are critical qualities for success in this role.

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
