About the Role

We are supporting
Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation
through Randstad in hiring an experienced
Java Developer
to join their engineering team. This position will contribute to the build-out of a new cloud-based application on AWS, with the environment moving to
Java 21
.

The hiring manager aims to
close both openings before Christmas
. Due to prior issues with candidate location accuracy, all applicants
must already reside within the Greater Boston area
or be within a realistic daily commuting distance. This requirement is firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support cloud-based applications using Java and Spring frameworks.
• Participate in modernization efforts including migration toward
  Java 21
  .
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, product, and architecture teams.
• Build and deploy services in AWS using best practices for scalability and security.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot and optimize application performance in cloud environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years
  of experience developing web-based applications.
• Strong background in
  Java / J2EE
  and
  Spring
  frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including:
• S3
• EC2
• Kubernetes
• Docker
• Terraform
• Ability and willingness to be
  onsite 4 days/week
  in Boston (mandatory).
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
