CNC Machinist

Job Summary:

This is an entry level to exprienced position that reports to the Shop Supervisor performing precision machining on 2-5 Axis CNC equipment in a prototype environment. As this individual demonstrates improvement and develops additional skills, there are opportunities within the company to advance too more involved milling, drilling, turning, grinding, & EDM operations on other machines as positions become available.

Position Overview:

• Must be familiar with manual machine tools and basic knowledge of CNC machining.
• Knowledge of MasterCAM or other CAD/CAM software is helpful.
• The ability to self-educate and keep notes for future reference when necessary.
• Must have excellent print reading skills, good organizational skills, and basic office/computer skills.
• The environment is fast paced, due to short lead times and multiple product/projects with parallel timelines.
• The Shop Supervisor and Team Leaders train all incoming employees and monitor's their progress.

Job Requirements:

• Ability as an Entry Level or Experienced Machinist on both manual and CNC machine tools.
• Basic knowledge of good machining practices, current cutting tool technology, limitations, and effective application.
• Have the ability to problem solve.
• Must be able to communicate with the Shop Supervisor, Team Leads, and Team Members effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Comfortable with sharing & listening to ideas from other Team Members.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• MasterCAM and/or Solidworks experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift 35lbs.

Education/Experience:

This position requires an associate degree, or certificate in machine tool trades, or high school trade school completion (IE: BOCES) or two years relevant job experience.
