A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As an IT Systems Administrator II, you'll support advanced system administration, network management, and security operations across the company. You'll maintain the performance, reliability, and stability of servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and enterprise applications. You'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, lead system improvement projects, strengthen operational processes, and support security monitoring, backup operations, and endpoint management. You'll also document system configurations, coordinate with vendors, guide junior team members, and help ensure strong security practices across the environment.
This is a temporary role lasting up to six months.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Administer Systems & Infrastructure: Design, configure, and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, network hardware, and enterprise applications.
  • Support Security Operations: Monitor alerts, address vulnerabilities, review system and security logs, and participate in incident response activities.
  • Optimize System Performance: Use monitoring tools, capacity planning, and system tuning to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Lead Technical Projects: Drive system upgrades, migrations, cloud deployments, and disaster recovery improvements.
  • Resolve Escalated Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems involving servers, networks, storage, and enterprise applications.
  • Manage System Maintenance: Oversee patching schedules, maintenance windows, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
  • Support Backup & Recovery: Maintain backup jobs, test restoration procedures, and ensure systems are recovery-ready.
  • Administer Email & Messaging: Support email platforms including routing, filtering, retention, and mobile access configurations.
  • Manage Endpoint Tools: Support endpoint management platforms for software deployment, configuration baselines, and device compliance.
  • Maintain Network Services: Assist with DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless systems, and firewall change requests.
