What You'll Do:
- Coordinate Community and Volunteer Activities:
- Develop and maintain an annual calendar for community outreach and volunteer initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support and coordination for the Brand Ambassador Program.
- Assist in recruiting, organizing, and supporting volunteers to ensure a positive experience and alignment with organizational goals.
- Support ongoing marketing programs by maintaining relationships with community partners, including local chambers and organizations.
- Monitor and evaluate community engagement initiatives, compiling reports on impact and participation.
- Support Event Coordination:
- Provide administrative and logistical support for internal and external events, including fundraising activities, employee recognition nights, and community fairs.
- Assist with logistics for financial literacy presentations and workshops.
- Coordinate government affairs and grassroots initiatives as needed.
- Oversee setup, takedown, and follow-up activities for events.
- Manage Donations and Sponsorships:
- Process and evaluate donation and sponsorship requests in accordance with credit union policies and budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate communication with recipients, including follow-ups and publicity opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records of past donations, sponsorships, and related community projects.
- Administrative Duties:
- Assist in tracking and reporting expenses to support compliance with approved budgets.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for events, sponsorships, and volunteer activities.
- Provide support for special projects and assist with general marketing functions as needed.
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on community engagement initiatives.
- Additional Functions:
- Represent the credit union at various events.
- Ensure timelines and deliverables are met for all initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote community involvement and employee engagement.
- Exhibit teamwork through dependability, initiative, and a positive attitude.
What You Need To Succeed:
- Job Education and Experience Required:
- BS/BA college degree in business, communications, or a related field. If no degree, 4+ years of experience in event coordination, community engagement, or administrative support.
- 1 year working in a financial service industry or nonprofit sector.
- Preferred Education, Certifications & Experience:
- Experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, or nonprofit/community relations.
- Knowledge and Job Performance Requirements:
- This position may require occasional responsibilities outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends.
- Knowledge of community engagement strategies, event planning, and volunteer management.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with event management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and track expenses effectively.
- Some non-standard work hours, including evenings and weekends, are required.
